Meet 2016 Instructor Trainee, Jeniffer Iglesias! This mom of 3 has been a member of Just Dance Roanoke since May of 2015 and is so excited to share her love of dance with all of you! While Latin genres and hip-hop are her favorites, she doesn’t discriminate and rocks every song that comes on in class. When you see her around the studio, be sure to welcome her to our team!
Who or what inspired you to become an instructor?
Dancing brings me so much joy, and I loved the idea of being able to help others feel the same way. I have always admired the instructors here at JDR. They are so positive and encouraging and I felt that joining them was the next step for me.
What is your “real” job?
I am currently a stay-at-home mom to three children, but was an elementary school teacher in my former life.
Do you have any formal dance training?
I danced ballet and jazz growing up. I also trained in flamenco dancing for a few years in college. Dancing has always been very important to me.
What style of dance do you love most?
Being originally from Venezuela, it is hard to hide my love for all Latin dance genres, but Hip Hop also has my heart.
What are your favorite songs to twerk to in class?
My favorites include Bailando, Pegate, Try Me and Shawty Got Moves. My heart also skips a beat when I hear any of the Sambas.
What other talents/hobbies do you have?
I enjoy baking, reading, and outdoor activities with my family.
Anything else you would you like the JDR family to know about you?
I am thrilled and so honored to be part of this year’s JDR instructor trainee team. I have already had the pleasure of getting to know and dance with some of the wonderful JDR participants. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
